My AC Is Blowing Hot Air

In today’s world, most households have an air conditioning system. However, the problem commences when the air conditioner starts blowing hot air instead of cooling your home. The rooms heat up and cause immense discomfort in any season, especially during the summer.

Why Does This Happen?

Here are some of the most common reasons why your AC is blowing hot air:

  • A problem in the Thermostat settings: If your thermostat is set to “heat,” your air conditioner will blow hot. When the thermostat is set to “on”, the fan continues to blow even when the air conditioner isn’t cooling. This results in hot air blowing from the vents.
  • Restriction in airflow: When there is a restriction in the airflow to and from your air conditioner, not enough air comes out of the vents to cool the room. The compressor in your AC’s outside unit may freeze up due to restricted airflow. Restricted airflow can happen if the air filter in your AC hasn’t been replaced in a long time or if the coils of the AC haven’t been cleaned properly.
  • No electricity supply to the outside unit: The outdoor unit is crucial for the AC to be able to cool the room. If warm air is blowing out of the vents, it could be that the circuit breaker has tripped or the fuse on the electric circuit has blown.

Here Are Some Other Services To Check:
